Note that the title is not saying 'why I don't feel cold', but 'why I don't get cold', with the difference being that I don't lack the receptors needed for feeling cold, but that my body temperature actually isn't getting lowered while in conditions when most of other people's would. For example, it's December and I'm still in short sleeves while pretty much everyone else has multiple layers of clothes on them and still are shivering. Or while I was living in Varaždin (a continental town in northern part of Croatia), my snow shoveling was also spent in dem short sleeves, while others wouldn't even think about going out without having an entire bear wrapped around them. I'm also not getting sick (while ironically all the people who tell me how I should dress up do) and people are free to feel me to see if I'm warm or not ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°), so the idea that I'm just pretending can be thrown out of the window. Anyway, reason why I'm making this thread is because it seems that others, for whatever reason, are unable to cope with it. Around this time last year a TV reporter stopped me on the street only to question me about the whole thing (15 sec of fame, yay)! Which is all fine (though a bit annoying) while people are just wondering about my situation, though it starts to really get annoying and weird when there is some hostility mixed in, for whatever reason (ie. 'you think you're better than me', 'are we all idiots for dressing up and you are the only one smart here', and my personal favorite 'why are you not considerate towards others who are cold' kinds of bs). And no, I don't 'die' during Summer! All in all, I kinda hesitated about making this thread in fear it might sound too much like 'ach look at me, I'm so kewl und special, blah, blah, blah...', but after my full 5 minutes of googling reuslted in a failure, my curiosity got better of me, so I've decided to tap into supreme intelligence collective known as PD in hope that someone might have a clue on why some people have a much better tolerance to cold. Now feed me with that delicious info!
